Badrinath is one of the famous pilgrimages in Uttarakhand, India, located in the Chamoli district. Tucked at an altitude of 3133 meters (10170 feet) above sea level in the lap of the Himalaya, it is dedicated to lord Vishnu. It is believed that lord Vishnu came here to meditate, and Maa Laxmi stood beside him in the form of the Badri tree to protect him from the harsh weather conditions.
